Joey attended Hillsdale College where he
received a B.S. in Chemistry, then went on to Purdue
University for a M.S. in Chemical Engineering.

“My favorite memory of my high school running
days was toeing the starting line and the bus
rides to and from meets. In both cross country and
track, there is a palpable tension, an air of
trepidation, that preceded every race. Knowing that I
put in the work and that I would have to put it all on
the line to win always went through my mind before
every race. Now that HS/Collegiate journey is over,
and I still have yet to find something similar to that
feeling of toeing the start line.  And the bus rides to
and from meets were a great place to relax with
friends and just have fun. My advice to younger
generations would be to enjoy the time. It goes by so
fast. It’s so easy to be focused on the next step that
it’s easy to miss what’s going on in front of you.”

He is currently employed as a Research
Chemical Engineer at Eastman Chemical.
